people-centred design
it is a new buzz word. well, it has been an old buzz word for some time already. but it occurred to me that perhaps it is not that new a buzz word, or even a concept.
it came to me that some actors use to research on roles they will play, for example, george clooney being in a real ER (emergency room) before doing… ER, and leonardo di caprio hanging with policemen before the departed. stuff like that.
suddenly it occurred to me that can be considered people-centred design. in a way. understanding the end user, tailoring an experience, researching the environment, conveying a realistic scenario… isn’t it all happening there?
you might say no, but think twice. they’re selling movies to people. they know how to. why? cause they know what appeals to them. how? knowing what they like, what they care about. they (the people) are in the centre of this kind of movie industry. so, let’s face it, they seem to be quite people-centred.
so what’s for us to do?
